Kavianpour Returning to Iran After Ipswich Trial
The newly promoted premiership club from eastern England would only say Friday that it would monitor the situation. It suggested that the midfield player from Tehran's Pirouzi club would be returning to Tehran.
Ipswich's interest in Kavianpour comes after the club, presently fifth in the Premier League, has been previously linked with other Iranian players, including Ali Daei, Ali Karimi and Mahdi Mahdavikia.
It also follows Karim Bagheri becoming the first Iranian international to sign for an English premiership club, when he was transferred to Charlton in south London in August.
Bagheri returned from Tehran last week after helping Iran to become the first team to win through to stage two of the Asian qualifying section for the 2002 World Cup, but he was reported to have come back with a slight injury.
Since being transferred, Bagheri has only appeared for Charlton as a substitute mainly due to international commitments.
