Farshchian to illustrate Shahnameh stories

TEHRAN -- Iranian master miniaturist Mahmud Farshchian and 24 other artists will illustrate stories from the Shahnameh for the International Shahnameh Illustration Conference.
Sponsored by the Iranian Academy of Arts, the conference on Ferdowsi’s magnum opus will be held from May 14 to 17 in Tehran.Farshchian plans to produce illustrations entitled “Creation” and “I Toiled Much over Thirty Years” for the event.
Painter Majid Mehregan will illustrate the Fourth Adventure of Shahnameh hero Rustam and also the story of Zal and the mythical Simorgh bird.
------Swedish conference to screen “The Lost Share”
TEHRAN -- The Iranian film “The Lost Share” will be screened at the First European Conference on the Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) Method, which will be held from October 6 to 7 in Uppsala, Sweden.
Directed by Hassan Najafi, “The Lost Share” tells the story of a premature baby.
KMC promotes skin-to-skin contact and exclusive breastfeeding for all newborns, particularly premature babies.
------Melal Orchestra to perform concert at Bagh-e Melli
TEHRAN -- The Melal Orchestra will perform a concert at the Qajar era Bagh-e Melli complex on April 19.
The 60-piece orchestra will perform pieces by Aref Qazvini and other veteran Iranian composers to commemorate the International Day for Monuments and Sites on April 18..
