KAYHAN in its editorial writes that any U.S. option toward Iran -- ranging from sanctions, military attack, negotiation, mental or media warfare, intelligence or shuttle diplomacy -- is carried out through two methods: technical or strategic means. In the strategic discussion, the question is: What is the U.S. strategy against Iran and how it has been defined? Another question is: Will the sanctions work or not?! Another matter is technical aspect of the issue and the question is: How does the option work? Then one can judge on the claims of United States’ statesmen about the sanctions and its psychological aspects. In the last 20 years, Iran has experienced a globalized economy and these options are only propagandistic.
JOMHURI ESLAMI in its editorial writes that the main goal of Imam Khomeini was to establish an Islamic republic based on Islamic values. Neither Imam nor his companions were after taking a high position or attribute the Islamic system to themselves. Imam Khomeini, three years after the victory of Islamic Revolution, did not permit clerics to take any post. After the first president betrayed the people and MKO terrors increased and many state officials were martyred, Imam accepted that clerics to run for president. Another example to cite is his son, late Hajj Agha Ahmad, who despite an insistence by (then president Abolhassan) Banisadr did not accept any post and during his lifetime none of his children were involved in power-sharing activities. However, Imam did not dispute the involvement of clerics in politics or judicial affaires and sometimes considered it as a religious duty. These realities show that Imam and his companions were not seeking power. They were actually after the establishment of an Islamic system based on Islamic values.
SIASAT-E ROOZ in its editorial says valuing nationalism and defending one’s land have been advised in every religion, particularly in Islam. But in the contemporary history we witnessed how our brave Basijis withstood the enemy and even one inch of our homeland did not remain in the hands of enemy. Global arrogance, due to its domination over the world, breaks up nations just like what happened to The Ottoman Empire. Great Islamic leaders like Sayyed Jamaledin Assadabadi, Eqbal Lahori, Martyr Modaress and Imam Khomeini promoted Islamic Internationalism during the last two centuries. At the outset of the Islamic Republic, political groups were urging the people to embrace nationalism and chanting slogans such as: ‘Great Kurdistan’, ‘Great Azerbaijan’ and the like. Their plot was defused by Imam Khomeini. The martyrdom of numerous people prevented the enemies to achieve their unpopular objectives during the first days of the revolution as the people could not tolerate any damage to the integrity of their nation. But this time, under the slogans of Shiism or Sunnism, and nationalism they use modern technology to deceive the ordinary people.
