TEHRAN -- Tehran’s Laleh Gallery is displaying copies of artworks from the 4th International Poster Exhibition YAKU which is currently underway in Lima, Peru.
The Anar Art Group negotiated with jury member of the exhibition Iraj Mirza Alikhani for exhibiting posters in Tehran and they were able to reach an agreement, designer Farkhondeh Rezaii told the Persian service of ISNA.The theme of the festival is “water” and 50 posters created by 50 designers from all over the world are now on display at Laleh Gallery, she added.
The exhibit’s organizers wanted a street exhibit unveiling posters prior to the official opening of the showcase in Iran, but that turned out not to be possible, she mentioned.
“Unfortunately there is no such facility for a street showcase in Iran, so we decided to display the artworks in the cities of Tabriz, Isfahan, Kermanshah, Mashhad, Shiraz, Qazvin and Zanjan,” she added.
Artworks by four Iranian artists Farkhondeh Rezaii, Hadis Razzaqi, Saleh Zanganeh and Meysam Khalvandi are also among the exhibited works.
El Ojo Ajeno Gallery in Lima is also playing host to “The Iranian Look” showcase on the sideline of the poster exhibit.
The showcase will run until October 12 at the gallery on Fatemi St. near Laleh Park.
