TEHRAN -- The commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Qasem Suleimani, has been promoted to the rank of major general.

The pronouncement was made in a decree issued by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, according to Fars news agency.
