Ferdowsi bust installed in Dushanbe

TEHRAN -- A bust of Ferdowsi created by Iranian sculptor Afshin Esfandiari was installed at the Tajikistan National Museum in Dushanbe during a ceremony last week.

The bust was unveiled during a ceremony attended by several Iranian and Tajik artists and officials including Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini.
Esfandiari made the sculptures of Ferdowsi and Rudaki in a week using a special technique and donated them to the Tajikistan National Museum during Iranian culture week in Dushanbe.
A Ferdowsi statue was installed at the Writers’ Union Building on the occasion of Shahnameh Millennium.
He has made four sculptures of Ferdowsi which were installed in different cities of world over the past six months.
The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Iranian cultural attaché office in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ferdowsi Foundation cosponsored the installation of the sculptures.
