Iran denies carpet-weaving city setup in China

TEHRAN -- Deputy Commerce Minister Morteza Faraji here Wednesday denied the establishment of a city in China named after Kashan, a major carpet producing city in Iran.

Faraji, also the head of Iran’s National Carpet Center, said the Chinese Embassy has denied the report on production of mocks of Iranian hand-woven carpets. He added that China languishes gradually in the international carpet market as it has failed to influence the industry as it did in other fields.
