TEHRAN – MP Hossein Ebrahimi of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee told the Fars News Agency that the military exercise on closing the Strait of Hormuz, which is scheduled to be held in the near future, is a “serious warning” to the United States. 

Ebrahimi also said that the Islamic Republic can cripple the economies of Europe and the U.S. with the closure of the strategic chokepoint. He added if Iran comes under a military attack it will certainly close the waterway and do its utmost to harm U.S. interests around the world.
