Putin’s envoy due in Tehran for talks on Syria

TEHRAN – Russia’s presidential representative for the Middle East and Africa is scheduled to visit Iran on Monday for talks on issues of mutual interest, including the ongoing crisis in Syria, Ebrahim Rahimpour, deputy foreign minister for Asia-Pacific Affairs, told IRNA on Thursday. 

Mikhail Bogdanov last visited Tehran four months ago for talks with Iranian officials on countering international terrorism and finding a lasting settlement to the crisis in Syria.
