TEHRAN- According to the latest report of UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Iran will produce 13.5 million tons of wheat in 2017.

According to FAO’s Quarterly Global Report, titled Crop Prospects and Food Situation which released in June 2017, Iran will stay second in the region after Turkey, with annual production of 21 million tons of wheat in 2017, in the current agricultural year. 
The 2017 production in the Islamic Republic of Iran of 13.5 million tons is likely to be on par with 2016’s level and exceed the five-year average by 25 percent, the report said.
