TEHRAN - General Mohammad Bagheri, the chief of Iran’s Armed Forces Joint Staff, has emphasized the significant strategic shifts witnessed globally following Iran’s retaliation against the Zionist regime.

Speaking at a ceremony at the National Defense University, attended by military and national officials, General Bagheri underscored the pivotal role of national pride in reshaping the regional dynamics.

"In the current critical regional scenario, the National Defense University stands as a beacon for our nation's future, meticulously analyzing regional complexities," stated General Bagheri.

He elaborated on the transformative impact of Operation True Promise, describing it as a "resolute response" to Tel Aviv's recent provocations.

The operation, launched in the aftermath of the Israeli regime's terrorist attack on Iran’s diplomatic premises in Damascus, marked a watershed moment in regional dynamics.

"The retaliatory action by the Islamic Republic of Iran sent a strong message, altering the strategic landscape not only in our region but also on a global scale," General Bagheri affirmed.

Highlighting the meticulous strategic planning within the Armed Forces, he stressed the imperative for the National Defense University to address strategic challenges comprehensively.

"As the premier institution for armed forces education, the National Defense University shoulders the responsibility of grooming top-tier commanders and strategic decision-makers," General Bagheri emphasized.

He emphasized the need for continuous enhancement in research quality and urged relentless efforts toward implementing the university's comprehensive plan.

"In pursuit of excellence, we must steadfastly execute the university's comprehensive plan, ensuring continuous improvement," concluded General Bagheri.

Back on August 23, 2023, General Bagheri spoke over the phone with Azerbaijani Defense Minister General Hasanov Zakir Asgar Oglu.

General Bagheri stressed the need to expand bilateral relations and defense and military cooperation.

Referring to the valuable agreements signed between the armed forces of Iran and Azerbaijan in the past, General Bagheri said, “The level of cooperation, communication and interaction between the armed forces of the two countries is progressing in all areas. We believe that the armed forces can become a factor in strengthening, friendship and brotherhood between the two countries.”

General Bagheri announced the full readiness of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran to participate in the Joint Military Commission in Baku.

“Creating security and peace in common borders is only possible with empathy and unity between neighboring countries,” he said, according to Fars News, adding, “The presence of foreigners in the region will cause tension and conflict.”
