TEHRAN The soccer team of Tehran's Esteqlal left here Sunday morning for Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to represent Iran in the quarterfinals of Asian Clubs Championships. Four West Asian teams of Al Wahda from the UAE, Al-Kuwait from Kuwait, Nesev Karsi of Uzbekistan and Esteqlal of Iran are to play each other in Al-e Nahyan Stadium, Abu Dhabi from Feb 6-10. The two top teams will cruise into the semifinals. The East Asia zone's quarterfinals are also played between Feb. 20-24 in South Korea by four teams of Dalian of China, Antlers of Japan, Suwon Samsung and LG from South Korea. The first- and second-placed teams will storm into the semifinals to clash for top titles, IRNA reported. Players of Tehran's Esteqlal are: Masoud Qassemi, Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh, Mojahed Khaziravi, Sirous Din-Mohammadi, Parviz Boroumand, Alireza Akbarpour, Mohammad Khorramgah, Mohammad Navazi, Mahmoud Fekri, Ali Mousavi, Yadollah Akbari, Hadi Tabatabaei, Faraz Fatemi, Davoud Seyed-Abbassi, Pirouz Qorbani, Mehdi Hashemi-Nassab, Ahmad Mo'menzadeh, Farzad Majidi, Saeid Beigi, Alireza Nikbakht-Vahedi, Arastoo Mohammadi, Mehdi Pashazadeh, Raf'at Qoliof Head Coach Mansour Pour-Heidari and other coaches and officials Morteza Mohasses, Parviz Mazloumi, Mansour Rashidi, Nasrollah Abdollahi, Amin Norouzi, Valiollah Salehnia and Madad Jabbari will accompany the team. Managing Director of Esteqlal Ali Fat'hollahzadeh will depart for Abu Dhabi Tuesday.
