Imam Khomeini's Relief Committee Treats 60 Patients Daily in Kabul
Safaie said that Imam Khomeini's Relief Committee restarted its medical activities in Afghanistan six months ago and has been expanding its capabilities at the service of the Afghan nation throughout that period.
He said that over ten thousand patients have referred to the relief committee during the said period and been treated free of charge.
Stressing that the relief committee's activities in Kabul are aimed at supporting Hamid Karzai's Central Administration, Safaie said: "As a trusted servant of the Iranian nation, Imam Khomeini's Relief Committee has so far transferred hundreds of truck-loads of the material aids of the philanthropist Iranian nation to the Afghans in need.
He said that the Iranian nation's contributions to Afghanistan will be offered more systematically from now on thanks to a well organized program, able to handel broader contributions.
Safaie added: "A large quantity of goods have been loaded, ready to be sent to destinations in Afghanistan from Iran, depending on timely cooperation of both countries' concerned authorities." Imam Khomeini's Relief Committee's activities started in 1993 in Afghanistan, but were halted during the backward reign of the Taleban's ousted regime.
