UDINE, Italy -- Italian Serie A club Udinese have agreed a deal to sign Germany striker Carsten Jancker from Bayern Munich, the Italian club said on Wednesday.
The towering forward is to undergo routine medical tests and will then be unveiled at a press conference later on Wednesday, a Udinese official said.
The 27-year-old was part of the Germany squad which reached the final of the World Cup finals in June before losing 2-0 to Brazil. He has scored eight goals for his country in 29 appearances.
Jancker failed to score a single goal for Bayern in the Bundesliga last season -- his sixth with the Munich club after spells with Cologne and Rapid Vienna, reported Reuters.
He has scored 49 goals in 148 Bundesliga matches.
