WB Grants $225m for Iran's Quake-Hit Areas
He told IRNA that the facilities will be provided within the framework of development and infrastructure projects and the government will guarantee to reimburse its full amount.
He put the share of Qazvin Province, located near Tehran, at $70 million and added that according to the mutually reached agreements, the World Bank will grant the credit to Iran's Interior Ministry for its departments in the quake hit zones. Parvin-Nia said, "The credit will be provided in two parts allocated to the reconstruction and economic rehabilitation of the quake-hit area. The projects are due to be completed in three years at the latest."
He announced the credit for the reconstruction of quake-stricken areas of Qazvin Province at $56 million and that allocated to its economic rehabilitation at $14 million.
The July 22 earthquake in Qazvin, Zanjan and Hamedan provinces inflicted great material and human loss.
