Pak Official Calls For Closer Ties With Iran

TEHRAN A Pakistani official has urged Islamabad government to upgrade its relations with its neighboring countries, especially Iran and Afghanistan, following recent threats posed by India. The Head of Foreign Relations Commission of the Pakistani Senate Akram Zaki said on Monday, The nuclear activities of India are dangerous not only for Pakistan but also for other regional states. The government of Pakistan should take up seriously the new Indian threat and take effective steps after consultations with friendly countries of the region, he added.
Zaki stressed that Islamabad should seek greater support of friendly neighbors including Iran and Afghanistan. He also called for speedy settlement of Afghan crisis.
