Short Film Festival Winners Announced
A total of 70 films from 36 countries participated in the international section of the festival, including 8 films from Iran. Short films produced in Germany, Britain, Japan, Bosnia and several other countries were also screened at the side section program of the festival. The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Ahmad Masjed Jamei, Head of Farabi Cinema Foundation, Alireza Rezadad and a group of prominent film-makers attended the ceremony; the winners were announced as follows: (A Class): * Best Film: “The Last Non-enumerated Village” by Shahram Alidi (Iran) * Best Animation: “Tired and No More” by Bahareh Tabatabaei (Iran) * Best Experimental Film: “Storm of Dragonflies” by Shahram Mokri (Iran) * Best Documentary: “Window” by Behzad Rassoulzadeh (Iran) * Best Fiction: “Nuisance of Masculinity” by Jamil Rostami (Iran) (B Class): * Best Animation: “Dialogue among Civilizations” by Abolqassem Heydari (Iran) * Best Experimental Film: “Again Rain” by Mahmoud Saedi (Iran) * Best Documentary: “Shall We Go or Stay?” by Ardeshir Pourne’mat (Iran) * Best Fiction: “Codeine” by Peyman Mandegar (Iran) *Best Film: “Water in Ants’ Nest” by Ferdows Khosravinejad (Iran) International Section: * Best Animation: “Hole” by Vahid Nassirian (Iran) * Best Experimental Film: “Eyelashes” by Kim Jo (Korea) * Best Documentary: “Red Robber Boots” by Jasmila Zbanic (Bosnia) * Best Fiction: “Ferdinand” by Andrei Lup (Estonia) * Special Jury Prize: “And the Red Man Went Green” by Ruth Meehan (England) * Best International Film: “Between the Wars” by Emily Woof (England)
