Veteran Iranian sculptress Terian honored
Scores of prominent Iranian figures of modern arts, trained under Terian, along with her friends and relatives also attended the event organized by Tehran Municipality’s Art and Culture Organization.
The ceremony opened with the screening of a documentary featuring painter-cum-architect Reza Shadzi and sculptor Hamid Shans, who expressed their memories of Terian’s classes and described her personality. Receiving the award, the old hand appreciated the organizers and guests, saying, “I don’t usually talk very much. I express myself through line, color, and shape.”
Later, the attendees also paid a visit to an exhibition of 25 sculptures and paintings by Terian put on display at the venue.
Born in Tehran in 1930, the sculptress graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of University of Tehran.
She has held a number of exhibitions and expositions in Iran.
