Georgian publisher acquires rights to “Short Stories in Iran”
TEHRAN – The Academic Press, a leading publisher in Georgia, has acquired the rights to “Short Stories in Iran” from Iran’s Pol Literary and Translation Agency.
The three-volume book written by Hossein Payandeh will be published in Georgian in the near future, the director of the agency, Majid Jafari-Aqdam, told the Persian service of Tasnim on Monday.
The first volume centers on realistic and naturalistic stories, the second contains modern stories, and the last covers the post-modern stories.
Payandeh’s books were originally published by Nilufar Publications in Tehran.
Jafari-Aqdam said that the agency is in talks with a Georgian publisher to sell the rights for “Of a Girl Named Aram” by Morteza Karbalailu.
The Pol Literary and Translation Agency has inked contracts with several foreign publishers to publish books by Iranian authors.
