Aerial raids, ground incursion mark latest Israeli breaches of Lebanon truce
Israeli military escalated its ceasefire violations in southern Lebanon through both aerial strikes and ground incursions on Sunday, The Cradle reported.
Following a wave of heavy air raids targeting the Iqlim al-Tuffah, Jabal Rihan, and Jezzine regions, an Israeli drone crashed in Houla while a quadcopter destroyed a residence near Mays al-Jabal.
Lebanese sources also documented a brief ground incursion where Israeli soldiers and military vehicles crossed the Blue Line to conduct a survey before retreating.
While Israel justified the strikes as targeting “Hezbollah weapon warehouses,” the attacks occurred amid intensifying political pressure within Beirut.
Internal tensions are rising as the Lebanese government prepares to vote on expanding arms restrictions north of the Litani River.
Since early 2025, the Lebanese army has been dismantling Hezbollah infrastructure south of the river to comply with the November 2024 truce.
However, Hezbollah has rejected demands for full disarmament, arguing that its arsenal remains a necessary deterrent while Israel continues to occupy border areas and launch lethal strikes.
Since the U.S.-brokered agreement began, Israeli attacks have claimed over 300 lives in Lebanon.
