U.S.-Israel attack targets some 43,000 non-military units
TEHRAN – Some 42,914 non-military units, including 6,179 business, and 36,489 residential units across the country have been targeted by the United States and Israel since the outbreak of the war on February 28 till March 14, according to the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS).
Out of 36,489 residential units, 10,000 were located in Tehran, the IRCS website reported.
During the same time, the violent attacks severely damaged 160 medical, pharmaceutical, and emergency bases.
Some 120 schools, being targeted directly or indirectly by the airstrikes, have been destroyed. The aggression has resulted in the martyrdom of 206 students and school staff.
In the first two weeks of the war, 17 medical centers, 21 rescue vehicles, including 19 ambulances, affiliated with the IRCS were destroyed.
Ten IRCS relief workers were wounded while performing their duties, and one was martyred.
Moreover, 16 medical workers have lost their lives in airstrikes.
Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani has said that since the beginning of the war, 223 women have been martyred, and 2,129 have been wounded, IRNA reported.
She added that 43 emergency call bases have been damaged, with three of them being totally destroyed. Also, 32 ambulances were targeted, out of which five are out of service.
