TEHRAN Presidential Advisor and Head of the Center for Dialogue Among Civilizations Ataollah Mohajerani in a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Tehran Salahattin Alpar called for the expansion of the Iran-Turkey ties in the cultural and scientific area.

In the meeting which was held in the Center for Dialogue Amongst Civilizations, Mohajerani said Iran and Turkey could successfully work together in the cultural affairs due to the many commonalities between the two states.

He set forth a propositions on setting up of an international gathering to promote the dialogue of civilizations.

The ambassador said turkey has paid great importance to the dialogue idea and is yet to adopt measures to promote the idea.

He said the Iranian policies were of prime importance for Turkey while calling for regular consultations between the Iranian and Turkish authorities to promote the all-out bilateral relations.

Iran and Turkey have shown a political will to boost mutual relations.

Iran's Ambassador to Turkey Mohammad-Hossein Lavasani stressed Monday the necessity for both Iran and Turkey to promote relations.

He said Iran and Turkey have been cooperating in different fields which include the project to transfer Iranian gas to Turkey, and branding the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) and Kurdistan's Workers Party (PKK) as terrorist organizations.
