    TEHRAN – Rome’s ambassador to Tehran Giuseppe Perrone on Wednesday unveiled the first episode of a joint video-theater project, co-performed by Iranian and Italian artists, which turns the spotlight on how the novel coronavirus imposes curbs on everyday life.

    TEHRAN – The Bangladeshi theater troupe Chandrakala has performed its new production “Sheikh Sadi”, a play about the life story of Persian poet Sheikh Muslih od-Din Sadi Shirazi, at the National Theatre Hall of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka.

    Corpse Bride goes on stage in Tehran

    A musical version of Tim Burton’s stop-motion film ‘Corpse Bride’ (2006) is now on stage at the Espinas Palace Hotel in Tehran. Mehran Ahmadi, Nazanin Bayati, Amir Jafari, Shaqayeq Dehqan, Milad Keymararm and Mohammad Lohrasabi are amongst the cast. Directed by Omid Reza Sepehri, the play is on stage since May 8, 2019.

    “Socrates” on stage at Tehran theater

    A cast of 27 top stage actors, including Farhad Aiish, Maryam Saadat and Ayyub Aqkhani, perform “Socrates” at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall. The play, which is about the life story of the great Greek philosopher, has been written by Hamidreza Naeimi who is also the director of the troupe.

    Historic Tehran Nasr Theater to undergo renovation

    People visit Nasr Theater in Tehran on April 15, 2019 as the historic monument reopened to the public for a one-week visit after over two decades of closure. The visit to the theater has been organized by the Tehran Municipality to familiarize the public with the renovation process of the building located on Lalezar Street, which was considered as Iran’s Broadway during the 1950s and 1960s.

    The Theater Forum welcomes Noruz

    The Theater Forum held Noruz celebration on March 11 at the venue of Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults. The event was attended by the Tehran Mayor Pirouz Hanachi, the managing director of the Theater Forum Shahram Gilabadi and a number of theater artists.
