DOE, UNDP hold meeting on wetlands preservation
TEHRAN – Ahmadreza Lahijanzadeh, the deputy head of the Department of Environment (DOE) for Marine and Wetlands affairs, and Ayshanie Medagangoda-Labé, the resident representative ad interim for United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Iran, held talks in Tehran on Wednesday, with a focus on the preservation of the country’s wetlands, particularly Hour al-Azim and Hamoun wetlands through provisions of water rights from Afghanistan and Iraq, respectively.

Iran, UNDP explore ways to preserve natural resources, address SDSs
TEHRAN – The head of the Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization, Ali Teymouri, and the resident representative ad interim for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Iran, Ayshanie Medagangoda-Labé, have discussed ways to boost joint efforts on managing natural resources and mitigating climate change impacts, particularly sand and dust storms.
