IAF to host Iranian photographers festival

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Photographers’ Society (IPS) plans to gather members across the country for a festival that will be held at the Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran in July.
 
Workshops, discussions and exhibitions are scheduled to be held at the festival, which has been entitled “Ten Days with Iranian Photographers”, IPS director Farzad Hashemi said during a press conference on Tuesday.
 
A number of the members will also be honored with prizes at the festival, which will begin on July 10.
 
“We really hope to discover the potentialities of Iranian photographers and to highlight the art of photography from a critical point of view during the event,” he mentioned.
 
The Pathology of Iranian photography will be the main theme of the roundtables that will be held during the event since social photographers face many problems in Iran, he said.
 
The event will honor veteran photographers, graduates, photography centers and associations, translators and gallery owners during the event, Saed Nikzat who is responsible for commemoration programs mentioned during the conference.
 
The event is considered as an opportunity for the Iranian Photographers’ Society to cooperate with and support related photography associations, especially in cities other than Tehran, member of the society Maryam Zandi mentioned during the event.
 
A detailed program of the event will be announced on the website of Iranian Photographers’ Society in the near future, Saed Nikzad concluded.
