TEHRAN – Esteghlal football team beat Foolad Hormozgan 2-0 in the 2025/26 Iran’s Hazfi Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday.

In the match held in Yazd’s Shahid Nasiri Stadium, Saman Fallah scored an early goal in the third minute and Esmaeil Gholizadeh doubled the advantage in the 78th minute.

The match between Shams Azar and Tractor, which was scheduled to be held in Qazvin earlier in the day, was canceled after Tractor didn’t travel to Qazvin.

The Hazfi Cup was founded in 1975 and Esteghal are the most successful clubs with eight titles each.
