TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi hosted a high-level team of senior Army commanders on Wednesday to discuss the strategic synergy between the nation’s military and diplomatic efforts.

The meeting was attended by Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami, Chief of the Army Staff Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, and Naval Force Commander Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, among other top-ranking officers.

During the session, Araghchi briefed the commanders on the resumption of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States in Muscat, Oman. He emphasized that military strength is the bedrock of successful negotiation. “Thanks to the immense capability, preparedness, and power of our Armed Forces, we are entering the diplomatic arena with greater confidence and leverage,” Araghchi stated.

General Hatami highlighted the seamless coordination between the Armed Forces and the country’s foreign policy apparatus. He reaffirmed the Army's unwavering readiness to safeguard Iran’s independence, territorial integrity, and national interests.

“Today, the arenas of defense and diplomacy are the twin pillars protecting our sovereignty, public welfare, and regional peace,” the general noted. He added that while the Army defends the nation through its specialized military hardware, the Foreign Ministry fights the same battle using the “weapon of diplomacy.”

The officials also reviewed recent regional and international developments. They concluded the meeting by stressing the necessity of maintaining high vigilance and utilizing the country’s combined defense and diplomatic potential to effectively neutralize foreign threats.
