TEHRAN- Despite the imposed war, the construction of 2,878 megawatts (MW) of solar power plants is underway across the country.

According to a report by IRNA from the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA), based on planned schedules, all investors and contractors involved in constructing solar power plants are active at the project sites despite the imposed war. 

Currently, the construction of 2,878 MW of solar power plants is underway at 285 sites across the country, the SATBA report said.

These sites are spread across 25 provinces and are being developed according to established priorities. The construction of these power plants is aimed at helping to reduce the electricity imbalance and is part of the implementation of the 14 mega-projects developed by the Ministry of Energy to supply the electricity needed for the summer of 2026.
