Leader honors IRGC Navy chief, calls his martyrdom a ‘proud testament’ to maritime resistance
TEHRAN – The new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, on Monday paid tribute to the martyred commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy, Alireza Tangsiri, describing his assassination as a symbol of national resilience and maritime strength.
In a message, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei praised him as a “courageous and valiant commander” who, after years of service, attained the “rank of martyrdom” during the “third imposed war” against Iran.
Ayatollah Khamenei said Tangsiri’s martyrdom stands as a “proud testament” to the strengthening of Iran’s naval capabilities and its resistance posture, particularly in defending the strategic waters of the Persian Gulf.
The Leader added that his loss would resonate deeply among the people of Bushehr Province, the youth of southern Iran, the country’s armed forces, and the nation at large.
