Iran, Tajikistan to expand cooperation in dam building
Iranian Energy Minister Parviz Fattah made the remarks during talks with reporters after the official welcoming ceremony held here Tuesday by Ahmadinejad for his Tajik counterpart Imomali Rakhmonov.
"Tajikistan is greatly interested in availing of the know-how and expertise of Iranian experts and engineers in the construction of dams," Fattah said. Referring to Iran-Tajikistan cooperation in the field of electricity, he added, "Draft agreements have been prepared by the two sides in this respect. If these agreements are signed by the approving officials, economic ties will be enhanced."
He, moreover, said that electricity cooperation, dam building and electricity transfers from Tajikistan and Afghanistan were to be the subjects of the agreements.
He added that the agreements will be disclosed in further detail after their approval.
