Lebanon to save $200 million using Egypt’s gas, Al-Balad says

BEIRUT (Bloomberg) -- Lebanon will save $200 million a year when the Al-Beddawi power plant becomes fully operational later this year using natural gas from Egypt, Al-Balad reported, citing Energy & Water Minister Alan Tabourian.
Tabourian said in a press conference that the plant will be 50 percent functional in August and fully operational in October, the Lebanese newspaper said.The agreement that was signed between Lebanon and Egypt will also cut the price of each gas cylinder used in Lebanese households by 50 percent, Al Balad reported, citing Tabourian.
