US-Israel attack on Iran is war on entire Islamic region, Araghchi tells counterparts
TEHRAN – Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Aragchi, stated that the war launched by Israel and the United States against Iran is, in fact, a war on the entire Islamic region.
“This imposed American and Zionist war is not just against the Iranian people, but against the entire region and Muslim countries,” Araghchi emphasized. He added that it is the duty of all Muslim and regional states to fulfill their historic responsibility and neutralize the Zionist regime’s malicious plan to destabilize Islamic states.
Araghchi made these remarks during telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, and Turkey.
In these calls, Araghchi reiterated that Iran has an “inherent” and “legitimate” right to utilize all its defense and military capabilities to defend the country.
On Saturday morning, the U.S. and Israel struck multiple locations in Tehran and other Iranian cities, including a girls’ elementary school. These attacks occurred despite ongoing nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington, negotiations that began in early February after extensive efforts by at least seven regional countries. This is the second time Washington has attacked Iran mid-diplomatic process, having previously attacked ahead of a sixth round of separate nuclear talks scheduled for June 2025.
