“Shadow Blade” named Iran’s best game of the year

TEHRAN – “Shadow Blade”, a fast-paced ninja platforming game, has won Iran’s Best Game of the Year Award at the Fifth Tehran Video Game Festival.

Produced by Dead Mage Inc., an independent Iranian game development studio focusing on high quality PC and mobile video games, “Shadow Blade” is an action game for iPad/iPhone and Android devices.

The fifth edition of the Tehran Video Game Festival ran from May 20 to August 27. Awards were presented to the winners on Wednesday at Milad Tower in the presence of Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati.

“Shadow Blade” was also given several other awards in different sections. It won three more Golden Gazelles in the Technical Achievement, Game Designing and Best Voice categories.

The game was also awarded with a Golden Gazelle for the Best Mobile Game of the Year, while it also received the Best Action Game Award.

In addition, it shared the Best Artistic Achievement Award with “Khaleh Qezi”.

“Khaleh Qezi” produced by Iran’s Anu Game Studio, features the story of old auntie Qezi in a far away village. Khaleh Qezi spends her time with the children of the village, but one day she finds out the children have been kidnapped and she steps in to find out the truth.

Moreover, the Best Music Achievement Award was given to “Khaleh Qezi”, while it also received the Golden Gazelle in the Video Game Platforms category.

“The Dark Madness”, a horror action and third person shooter game produced by Iran’s Tosan Game Ltd., won a Golden Gazelle in the Storyline Achievement category.

The game also received the Best Adventurous Action Award.
