TEHRAN – Khorramabad is set to host the 4th International Troglodytic Architecture Conference from November 12 to 14.

With the theme “Resilience against Relics, Climate Change, and Disasters,” the conference promises to be a pivotal gathering for experts, scholars, and enthusiasts from around the globe.

Troglodytic architecture, characterized by structures built into natural caves or carved into cliffs, holds a significant place in Iran's cultural and architectural legacy. From the ancient troglodytic villages of Kandovan to the majestic rock-cut sanctuaries of Meymand, Iran's troglodytic sites offer a glimpse into centuries of human ingenuity and adaptation.

Against the backdrop of these remarkable achievements, the 4th International Troglodytic Architecture Conference aims to explore the challenges and opportunities facing troglodytic structures in the modern era.

With a sharp focus on resilience against relics, climate change, and disasters, the conference will delve into strategies for preserving and safeguarding these architectural treasures for future generations.
