TEHRAN - Iran discovered their opponents at the 2026 International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) qualification.

The road to the 2026 IWBF World Championship officially began as the qualification draw was held in Bangkok, Thailand. 

Team Melli are drawn in a challenging group alongside Poland, Brazil and Africa's representative in Group B.

Each opponent bring a distinct style: Brazil are known for their aggressive transition play, while Poland rely on a structured defensive system. For Iran, the mix promises a demanding but motivating pathway toward qualification. 

Group A consists of Thailand, the Netherlands, South Korea and Venezuela.

The qualification will be held in Bangkok from June 8 to 12.

The top four teams will advance to world championship to be held in Canada.
