Library opens in Mashhad with Leader’s donation

TEHRAN – The Imam Khomeini Central Library was inaugurated in Mashhad on Monday with the donation of a copy of the Holy Quran by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Iran Public Libraries Foundation director Alireza Mokhtarpur and the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi.

IFLA Public Libraries Section Information Coordinator Jan Richards and National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) director Ashraf Borujerdi was also among the attendees in the ceremony.

As a major cultural structure in Mashhad, the library has also been equipped with separate sections for the visually and hearing impaired individuals.
