Tehran to host chemical weapons conference on Sunday

TEHRAN – Tehran is going to host an international conference on fighting the use of chemical weapons on Sunday.

The event will be attended by Head of Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons Ahmet Uzumcu, high-ranking Iranian officials, and foreign ambassadors, the Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday.

The event will be a special meeting on the occasion of the 20th year since the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, as well as the 30th anniversary of Saddam Hussein’s chemical attack on the Iranian town of Sardasht.
