Olive production expected to double in Iran

TEHRAN - Annual production of olives in Iran is expected to double to reach 200,000 tons in the current Iranian calendar year (ends on March 20, 2023), an official from Iran’s ministry of agriculture said on Sunday.

Javad Mir-Arab Razi, who is in charge of the ministry’s olive cultivation development program, put the country’s total olive production in the previous year at 100,000 tons, IRIB reported.

According to the official, of the total production in the current year, 100,000 tons are used for olive oil extraction from which 17,000 tons of oil is expected to be produced.
