TEHRAN – Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) issued an official statement on Friday addressing recent “terrorist” activities carried out by rioters and agents linked to the intelligence services of the Zionist regime and the United States.

According to the statement, these agents have been engaged in a “hybrid war” against the Iranian people.

It highlighted while tactics may shift, the belligerence of the Zionist regime against the steadfast Iranian nation remains constant.

The council noted that while recent events initially stemmed from protests regarding market instability, they were quickly diverted toward insecurity through the “guidance and design of the Zionist enemy.”

The SNSC further pointed to recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump as evidence of a coordinated plot between the two regimes aimed at disrupting the lives of the Iranian people.

The statement also emphasized that no honorable Iranian would permit the desecration of national and religious symbols. “No person of integrity allows national symbols such as the flag to be insulted, or worse, set on fire.” 
The SNSC also condemned attacks on monuments honoring national icons, stating that “no dignified Iranian would tolerate insults or arson directed at the statue of the symbol of national resistance, [Martyred General] Haj Qassem Soleimani.”

Furthermore, the council expressed outrage over attacks on religious sites, asserting that “no free-hearted Iranian allows the symbol of national identity, such as the Houses of God [mosques], to be disrespected, or worse, set on fire.”

The SNSC made a clear distinction between citizens with legitimate economic concerns and those engaging in sabotage.

It argued that individuals protesting economic conditions would not logically engage in actions that exacerbate economic damage or add the burden of insecurity to existing financial hardships.

The SNSC reaffirmed that the presence of security and law enforcement forces is dedicated to preventing chaos. These forces stand alongside the “proud and resolute nation” to neutralize the destabilization plans orchestrated by the Zionist regime and its “godfather,” the United States.

Regarding the legal consequences for those involved in the unrest, the SNSC maintained a firm stance.

The statement concluded by warning that “the security forces and the judiciary will have no leniency toward saboteurs.”
