TEHRAN – A site in Dubai, utilized as a gathering point for U.S. Marines, was struck during a drone and missile operation conducted by combat units of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, according to a statement from the IRGC's public relations office.

The gathering included over 160 members of the U.S. Marine Corps, the statement added. At least 40 of the American personnel were killed, and 70 others were injured.

The White House and the Pentagon have yet to comment on the incident.

Iran has severely damaged U.S. bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Jordan in continuous strikes it began Saturday morning, following attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iran. Those assaults, conducted amidst diplomatic negotiations, resulted in the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and several members of his family.

Iran says it has so far killed or injured over 650 American soldiers. The U.S. claims the casualty figures are around five, despite the heavy damage inflicted upon its military sites. Iran has also attacked hotels and residences in the Persian Gulf to which U.S. personnel had been evacuated. American officials have stated they expect the number of casualties to rise in the coming days, an assertion observers view as a sign of heavy censorship of the real figures by the Trump administration.

Iran has also hit several military and security sites in the occupied territories over the past three days.
